Google Flow adds six tools built by working creatives

Google Labs published six new tools for Google Flow on September 23, 2026, and the interesting part is who built them. Google made them with named working creatives: a creative director and a sound designer, a digital storyteller, an interior designer and technologist, and a filmmaker and science communicator. That is why each one targets a specific job. Each tool has its own shared page in Flow, and Google invites you to duplicate and remix any of them to fit your setup.

The two worth trying first touch the parts of AI video that are still slow: sound and captions.

1. Mondo Sónico, built by creative director Ricardo Villavicencio and sound designer Sebastián Carvallo.

The pair wanted more dynamic audio for their projects, so they built a tool that generates background ambience, foley and contextual sound effects across separate, editable tracks, synchronized automatically. That structure is the point: you can export individual stems into a post-production session instead of living with one mixed audio bed. If your workflow ends in an edit suite, this replaces a manual pass.

2. CaptionCast, built by digital storyteller Jay Pirabakaran.

Pirabakaran made it to eliminate manual subtitling. CaptionCast transcribes, styles and animates multilingual captions in a single pass, in seconds. It removes the assemble-by-hand stage.

3. ThumbnailForge, also by Jay Pirabakaran.

Feed it one image, a headline and a prompt and it produces photorealistic social thumbnails, replacing the manual formatting and rendering of cover art for each social platform.

4. Surface, built by interior designer and multidisciplinary technologist Vojtek Morsztyn.

Surface generates architectural textures, from minimalist patterns to Art Deco tiling, and maps them in real time onto 3D walls, ceilings and floors. It is the most specialised tool of the six and the clearest example of the strategy: speed up the slow stage of a professional's ideation process, here the sourcing, testing and rendering of materials.

5. CollageMotion Pro, by filmmaker and science communicator Hashem Al-Ghaili.

Mixed-media collage is a documentary staple that is labour-intensive to craft by hand. Al-Ghaili built this one to automate that work: it generates dynamic, animated collages at scale from text prompts.

6. SwissFlow Studio, also by Hashem Al-Ghaili.

SwissFlow Studio converts a script into Swiss-style motion graphics, which Google says simplifies traditional keyframing. If your videos open with a graphic explainer beat, this is the one to test against your existing template.

One thing to check before you build on any of them: Google's post does not publish credit costs or plan availability for the Tools, so run one test job and read your own consumption. If one fits, duplicate it into your own workspace and adjust it there, which is what Google's "make them yours" step is for.
