Oracle plans Media Fabric, bundling AI video and streaming
Oracle says the platform, combining Creative Studio, AI Media Models and Video Edge, arrives within 12 months; the media models are in beta.

Key takeaways
- Oracle announced Oracle Media Fabric at Oracle AI World in Las Vegas on October 27, 2026, combining Oracle Creative Studio, Oracle AI Media Models, Oracle Video Edge and an Oracle Adaptive Media Platform for audience-specific advertising, and says the platform is planned to be available within the next 12 months.
- Oracle's AI Media Models, its first family of foundation models, generate video and images and edit images, and access runs through a Beta program by contacting an Oracle account team; no price, no named customer and no media-segment revenue figure was published.
- Oracle says the models were trained from scratch on rights-cleared data, and names one data partner, Shutterstock, whose data-licensing SVP Daniel Mandell says the company is exploring the generation API and search tools; Oracle does not identify the datasets it trained on or describe the IP safeguards in the release.
- Adobe's Firefly models passed 29 billion generations, about 1 billion a month, according to an Adobe post dated October 23, 2025, and Adobe's GenStudio for Performance Marketing already builds and activates ad variations across Google, TikTok, Amazon and LinkedIn.
Oracle introduced Oracle Media Fabric on October 27, 2026 at its Oracle AI World conference in Las Vegas, a platform that bundles AI video and image generation with the live-streaming delivery service Oracle has been building since March, and Oracle says it is planned to be available within the next 12 months.
The platform stitches together four parts, three of which already existed. Oracle Creative Studio is an AI production suite for storyboards, scenes, video and virtual characters that runs Oracle's own models alongside third-party ones, choosing a model per task on security, provenance, cost and IP protection. Oracle AI Media Models provide video generation, image generation and image editing. Oracle Video Edge handles live delivery. Oracle Adaptive Media Platform connects the two ends, and it is where the advertising sits: Oracle says brands can generate variations of a base advertisement inside their own brand guidelines and approval rules.
"Creating content and delivering it to viewers were separate processes," said Clay Magouyrk, Oracle's chief executive. "With Oracle Media Fabric, we're bringing content creation and streaming together, using AI across the entire production and distribution workflow."
The generative half is the least finished. Oracle introduced the AI Media Models in a Beta program at the same event, and the launch post by Sujith Ravi, group vice president of AI Foundations, describes them as Oracle's first family of foundation models, "trained from scratch on rights-cleared data using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure's hyper-scale clusters optimized for multimodal and generative AI." Access runs through an Oracle account team, which the post says handles evaluation requests.
Oracle does not say what the rights-cleared data is. No dataset, licensor, volume or training date appears in the announcement or the models post, and the only data partner named is Shutterstock. Daniel Mandell, Shutterstock's senior vice president of data licensing and AI, said in the post that responsibly governed datasets shape output quality and that Shutterstock is "exploring Oracle AI Media Models' generation API and media search and discovery capabilities to help intelligently create, curate, organize, and search our multimodal content." Oracle also sells governed data preparation and model customization, which let a customer adapt a model to its own authorized archive.
The safeguards Oracle describes are similarly thin. The release says Media Fabric "includes safeguards to help protect customers' intellectual property (IP) and reduce the risk of generated content infringing the IP rights of others," and nothing in the release or the models post says what those safeguards are. Neither document mentions indemnifying a customer against an infringement claim.
Oracle Video Edge is further along and less new than the announcement makes it sound. Oracle's OCI Media Services team has documented the service, then called Oracle Video @ Edge, since a March 16, 2026 post by Dustin Encelewski and Arvind Suryakumar that describes it as progressing from beta toward general availability. It delivers Media over QUIC through relays in OCI regions, partner CDNs and ISP networks, with Cloudflare, Broadpeak, Ateme and Bitmovin in the demonstration stack, as Unite.AI recounted. That team's own near-term priority list included "Monetization with dynamic ad delivery" and content protection with digital rights management. The advertising layer Media Fabric now sells was on Video Edge's to-do list in March.
An advertising platform is a notable thing for Oracle to sell. Oracle told investors in June 2024 that it was exiting the advertising business, a unit that Oracle chief executive Safra Catz said had declined to about $300 million in revenue in fiscal year 2024 as AdExchanger reported. The Adaptive Media Platform points the same capabilities at broadcasters' own inventories instead of at Oracle's data brokerage.
The nearest equivalent already ships. Adobe says its Firefly models passed 29 billion generations, about 1 billion a month, in a company post dated October 23, 2025, and Adobe's GenStudio for Performance Marketing does the ad-variation job today, activating campaigns into Google, TikTok, Amazon and LinkedIn. Adobe argues its outputs are commercially safe because it had the right to train on its data. Oracle's answer is model choice plus delivery: it picks among models per task and streams the result itself.
Oracle published no price, no customer name and no media-segment revenue figure with the announcement. Its own release carries the standard future-product disclaimer, which states that the development, release, timing and pricing of features "may change and remains at the sole discretion of Oracle Corporation." For a creator outside a studio or broadcaster, the practical read is that Media Fabric remains an enterprise conversation with an Oracle account team, and the beta models are not a public tool to sign up for.
Next catalyst: Oracle Video Edge's move from beta to general availability, which Oracle's media team has said it is documenting, and any named Media Fabric customer before the 12-month window closes.
