This week in media MCPs: Unity ships 32 skills and two servers retire
Runway and ElevenLabs retired their local MCP servers in the same week Unity shipped 32 official skills for coding agents. Every media-creation MCP server and skill pack we track, with the date each figure was read.

Key takeaways
- Runway and ElevenLabs both retired their local MCP servers, pointing users at hosted ones: the pattern is moving from a repo you install to a connection you authorize.
- Unity shipped 32 official skills for coding agents, and Epic's Unreal Engine skills for Claude Code sit in Anthropic's official marketplace at 544 stars.
- The vendor skill pack has become a product category: Higgsfield, Black Forest Labs, Scenario, Comfy, Adobe and Canva all publish their own.
- Community 3D and video tooling still dwarfs the vendors on adoption: MCP for Blender has 31,079 stars and OpenMontage 67,177, against 23 for Runway's archived server.
- Every figure on this page carries the date it was read from the source repository, and the servers whose numbers we could not read this week are listed without a figure rather than with a guess.

An agent can already talk. This is the week it got hands. MCP servers (Model Context Protocol: the connector that lets an assistant drive another company's software) and agent skills (folders of instructions that teach an assistant how a specific tool wants to be used) are how a chat window turns into something that renders video, rigs a character, or grades a timeline.
This edition tracks 15 of them, split by who ships them: the vendors, and the open-source projects that quietly have the most users. Two servers were retired in the week, and both were official.
Retired this week
Runway — Let an agent generate video and images, edit or upscale video and produce spoken audio, validating every request against that model's own parameters before it left the machine. Archived; points to runway.com/mcp and dev.runwayml.com/agents. (23 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
ElevenLabs — Gave an agent the whole audio platform: speech, transcription, voice cloning and design, sound effects, music generation and audio isolation. Deprecated in favor of the hosted server at api.elevenlabs.io/v1/mcp, which authenticates with OAuth so no API key is copied into the client. The repository is no longer actively maintained. (1,535 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Skills and plugins: companies teaching agents their own tools
Unity — 32 Unity-authored skills that teach an agent how Unity intends a job to be done: sprite atlases, URP renderer features, 2D physics, audio mixers, localization, UI, Shader Graph custom nodes, in-app purchases. Many drive an open Editor through the Unity CLI rather than hand-editing scene files. Installs for Claude Code and Codex; the skills appear in the slash menu as /unity:. (32 skills, 510 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Epic Games — Controls the Unreal Editor from an agent over MCP: hundreds of tools across 30+ toolsets, covering actors, blueprints, materials, Niagara, Control Rigs, Sequencer, State Trees, widgets, the Gameplay Ability System and automation testing. Published in Anthropic's official marketplace. Ships one skill plus a SessionStart hook that pushes Unreal conventions into the agent's context. (1 skills, 1,292 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Higgsfield — Vendor skills for image and video generation and whole visual brand systems: Soul ID character consistency, product photoshoots, Marketing Studio ad video, marketplace cards, explainer video and YouTube thumbnails. Installs through npx skills, the GitHub CLI, or the Claude Code marketplace. (8 skills, 1,326 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Black Forest Labs — Teaches an agent how to prompt FLUX and drive the BFL API correctly: a prompt doctor, cinematic inserts, keyframes and continuation, audio and dialogue, archival formats (Super 8, VHS, 16mm) and finished product ads with voiceover. Follows the agentskills.io specification. The FLUX 3 video set routes each request to a specialist skill. (10 skills, 134 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Scenario — A large skill library for production assets (images, video, audio, textures, skyboxes, 3D) with per-model skills for Runway, Luma, Kling, Veo, Seedance and MiniMax, plus expert teams that drive Blender, Maya, ZBrush, Unreal and Unity. 239 commits. Drives Scenario's own MCP server and installs into Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and Copilot among others. (1,064 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Comfy Org — Ships the comfy-cloud plugin, slash commands plus the hosted MCP connection, so an agent can generate images, video, audio and 3D, search models and nodes, and run ComfyUI workflows. A separate local server (Comfy-Org/comfy-mcp) drives a local ComfyUI install. The local server deliberately hardcodes no default model: it tells the agent to choose through search_templates and search_models, so the guidance cannot rot. (232 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
community (calesthio) — An agentic video production system: the agent builds a corpus from free stock footage and open archives, edits real motion clips into a timeline, and renders a finished piece. Its own README claims 12 production pipelines, 100+ tools and 700+ skill and production-knowledge files. (69,906 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
MCP servers worth wiring up
MiniMax — Text to speech, voice cloning and design, and video and image generation from an agent, with a JavaScript implementation alongside the Python one. The README now points at MiniMax CLI (mmx-cli), which it describes as working as an agent skill. (1,592 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Meshy — 28 tools across the Meshy API: text and image to 3D, remesh and retexture, rigging and animation, UV unwrap, conversion, and 3D print checks including auto-split and multicolor. v0.6.4 adds a Smart Topology model aimed at game assets, 100 to 30,000 faces. (28 tools, 83 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Tripo (VAST AI Research) — Generates and refines 3D models from text or an image through the Tripo platform. Star count not re-read this week; capability taken from the repository. (218 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Glif — Turns a written request into a produced composite of images, video and audio through Glif's hosted pipeline. compose_project takes a plain-language request and returns a job to poll. (215 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
Open source moving fastest
community (samuelgursky) — Drives DaVinci Resolve Studio from an agent across editing, media management, color and cloud operations. Community project, not Blackmagic. The README describes two modes: 37 compound tools, or 390 granular ones. (3,649 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
community (ahujasid) — One command wires the server into nine agent clients and installs the Blender addon; after that an agent can model, edit scenes and render. Renamed from blender-mcp; the PyPI package is now mcp-for-blender and existing setups keep working. Explicitly not affiliated with the Blender Foundation. (31,687 stars, read 19 Oct 2026)
How to read this page
Every number here was read from the project's own page on 19 Oct 2026, and each one says so. We would rather leave a number out than print one we did not read. 15 of the 15 entries carry a figure read 19 Oct 2026.
If you are deciding what to connect first: pick the vendor whose hosted server needs no install, and pick the community project whose last commit is recent. A server that has been archived is a lecture in how fast this moves.
