HelloGen sells unlimited AI video on one model for $19.90

HelloGen took the meter off one model. On 21 September the image and video generation service launched unlimited generation for subscribers on MiniMax H3, which HelloGen hosts on its own infrastructure rather than paying a model vendor per second of output. That is the whole arithmetic: on the one model it runs itself, clips spend no credits, while the vendor models on the same service still bill.

The word unlimited comes with a floor attached. Pro subscribers at $19.90 a month are guaranteed at least two priority renders a day and Max subscribers at $49.90 at least five, all of which go to the front of the queue. Everything past that still renders, at standard speed. Put another way, the plan promises a minimum at the front of the line, not uncapped throughput.

HelloGen's own comparison puts the guarantee in money. Priced against the cheapest credit-billed video model on the service, the sixty guaranteed renders a month that a $19.90 subscription provides come to $105.84 of video. Clips run two to fifteen seconds with stereo audio generated in the same pass as the picture, and take a text prompt, a single photograph, a first and last frame, or up to nine reference images. Native output is 480p; the service's upscaler takes it to 1080p or 4K in credits.

The comparison shopping in the release is HelloGen's own reading of its rivals' pricing pages, checked on the same day. Runway, it says, lists no unlimited video plan at any tier, with its highest consumer plan at $95 a month billed monthly, where the word unlimited applies to 4K upscaling rather than generation. Vidu's Ultimate plan at $79 a month billed annually applies unlimited to 1080p image generation, with video on that plan running from a monthly credit allowance plus an off-peak mode capped at 200 submissions a day.

"We kept watching people write one prompt, look at the price, and close the tab," HelloGen founder Chywe Chen says in the release. "The meter was stopping more work than any limitation of the models was."

For anyone budgeting a series rather than a clip, the useful number is not the headline price but the guarantee: two renders a day is sixty a month, and anything past that competes with every other user for the queue.

Unlimited generation is included with the Pro and Max plans; upscaling and the vendor models on HelloGen are still billed in credits.
