Four AI video picks to try this week, from Krea to PixVerse

Four things shipped in the last three days that are worth your time before the weekend, and two of them are free to try. Krea put ByteDance's Seedance video models inside its own API on October 28, so you no longer need a separate ByteDance key to run them. Synthesia opened a Localization API on October 27 that dubs a video into as many as 20 languages from the systems you already use. Dreamina is running a credit event that makes Seedance 2.5 video free at 720p until November 6. PixVerse and OpenAI are running webinars that hand out credits. Each entry below says what it is, who it is for, what it costs, and what it replaces.

Krea's Seedance API (Krea)

Krea's changelog entry for October 28, 2026 adds Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 2.0 Mini to the Krea API. The models are ByteDance's, and Krea provides the access: you call them with your Krea API token, so there is no separate ByteDance key to configure.

Reach for this if you already pay Krea for images and want video on the same invoice. Requests draw on your workspace's API balance rather than your app compute, so one topped-up balance covers both. Krea's API pricing page lists Seedance 2.0 from $0.0809 per second and Seedance 2.0 Fast from $0.0645 per second, read October 29. The Seedance guide gives each endpoint's limits: 2.5 runs 4 to 30 seconds at up to 1080p, and 2.0 reaches 4K in clips of 4 to 15 seconds. All four take text, start and end frames, reference media and native audio. It replaces the second vendor account you keep open just to test ByteDance's models against what Krea already does.

Synthesia Localization API (Synthesia)

Synthesia's updates page carries two entries dated October 27, 2026. The bigger one is the Localization API: send it a video URL and it dubs the video into up to 20 languages in a single request, tracks each language until its dubbed file is ready, and lets you add more languages to an existing localization later. The second fits the same workflow. Pick one of your workspace's Brand Kits in Syren and the video uses its logos, colors, fonts and Avatars from the first draft.

You want this if localization is a volume problem rather than a one-off. Synthesia's detail page says the API is built to run automatically from your own CMS, LMS or content pipeline, and it ships with two new API key scopes, Localization (read) and Localization (write), so you can hand an integration only the access it needs. Synthesia's own API pricing page puts dubbing at $0.40 per minute for voice only and $0.80 per minute with lip-sync, drawn from the same credit balance as your subscription. It replaces a translation vendor, a manual re-timing pass and a fresh branding check for every locale you ship.

Dreamina's Early Black Friday event (Dreamina)

Dreamina, the video tool from CapCut, opened a discount window on October 27 that closes on November 6, 2026. Its pricing page states the terms in its own footnote: credit and plan discounts run from October 27 to November 6, and free Seedance 2.5 videos are available only at 720p. A benefit line on the same page adds free 4K generation with Seedream 4.0 until November 6, 2026.

Take the free Seedance 2.5 at 720p if you want a look at the model before spending credits, and use the Seedream 4.0 window if you need stills at delivery size. Elsewhere the page lists Seedance 2.0 Fast saving 43% of credits at 720p, and a Basic annual plan discounted 40% to $100.79 for the first year, renewing at $167.99. One offer closes sooner: 98% off a first month, billed at $0.29, ending October 30, 2026. It replaces the throwaway test account you keep around to compare models before committing to one.

PixVerse's Prompt to Production with OpenAI (PixVerse and OpenAI)

PixVerse and OpenAI announced Prompt to Production, an education push that pairs the PixVerse plugin inside ChatGPT and Codex with a PixVerse CLI for repeatable video, image and audio generation. The plan is two live webinars followed by an ongoing lesson series on PixVerse's YouTube channel.

The webinars are where the free credits are. The announcement says every attendee receives complimentary PixVerse credits, and that attendees who complete the post-session survey enter a random draw for a 1-month ChatGPT Pro subscription, with 100 winners per session. The dates need care, because the sources disagree. PixVerse's announcement page is dated October 8, 2026 and times the sessions at October 28, 12 PM GMT+8 for APAC and October 29, 10 AM PT for North America. PixVerse's own updates blog also carries the October 8 date but moves the APAC session to October 30, while a wire release dated October 26, 2026 matches the announcement page on October 28 and 29. The North American session is October 29 at 10 AM PT on all three accounts, so register from PixVerse's page and treat the APAC slot as either October 28 or October 30. It replaces the afternoon you would spend reading two vendors' setup docs before wiring an agent into a real edit.
