What Higgsfield is

Higgsfield is a San Francisco company selling video and image generation to professional creators, brands, agencies and studios, and it sells mostly other labs' models with its own tools wrapped around them. Its co-founder and chief executive is Alex Mashrabov, who previously ran generative AI at Snap. The product did not exist before March 2025, according to Startup Fortune, which is why the funding numbers read the way they do.

It raised a $400 million Series B at a $5.4 billion valuation on 17 August 2026, led by DST Global, more than quadrupling the $1.3 billion valuation of its Series A round and extension. The same announcement says annualised revenue reached $700 million that month, that the company has more than 30 million users in 238 countries and territories, and that it works with 390 of the Fortune 500.

Figures the company has shared, as collected by Startup Fortune, put annualised revenue at $200 million at the end of 2025, $500 million in June 2026 and $700 million in August. The Series B release names its agentic products as a primary driver: after Supercomputer shipped in May 2026, users of those products grew 42-fold in three months and now drive more than 20 million generations a month. Mashrabov told Bloomberg, as summarised by Startup Fortune, that the company expects a $1 billion annualised run rate within twelve months. Higgsfield's own cashback post of the same day went further, saying "You helped us reach a $1B run rate", without a figure or a date behind it. A run rate is annualised from a month or a quarter rather than audited, and cash-flow positive describes the timing of cash rather than profit; both figures come from the company.

What Higgsfield costs

Higgsfield sells subscriptions for the web app and, since 16 September 2026, a separate metered API. The two do not mix: money paid into a plan cannot be spent on API calls, and an API key needs no plan.

• Free: limited use, no price published.
• Starter: $19 a month billed annually, 270 credits a month.
• Plus: $47 a month billed annually ($59 monthly), 1,200 credits a month.
• Ultra: $99 a month billed annually ($129 monthly), 3,000 credits a month.
• Scale: the business plan for teams of five to fifteen. The changelog says Scale gained unlimited Nano Banana Pro and Seedream 5.0 Pro on monthly plans, plus Kling 3.0 on annual plans, for subscriptions taken after 3 September 2026, with unlimited access granted for seven days after the first purchase.
• Enterprise: no public price. The changelog entry of 19 August 2026 describes dedicated US capacity for Seedance models, SOC 2, SSO and unlimited seats.

Prices come from Higgsfield's pricing page, which also says unlimited usage may be speed-adjusted at busy times, that unlimited models are reachable only at higgsfield.ai and not through MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer, and that prices exclude local taxes.

On the API, billing is per generation with every model's rate published before a job runs. A new account starts at 15% off every model, the discount rises toward 50% when four models are chosen, and verifying a business email and adding a card puts $15 on the balance. Each key opens with 20 concurrent requests. On 26 September 2026 the console listed Seedance 2.5 from $0.144 a second at 30% off a $0.2057 list, Kling 3.0 at $0.0462 a second at 45% off, MiniMax H3 at $0.091 a second at 30% off, and Genjutsu from $0.159 a second at 50% off. Discounts and rates change, so the console is the price.

The promotion on top of all of it is the cashback: 100% of API spend returned as API credits on every model, capped at $100,000 per business, drawn from a $20,000,000 pool the company describes as first come, first served, with unused cashback expiring on 30 September. The offer went out on Higgsfield's own account on 24 September 2026. Because the cashback comes back as API balance rather than money, it is spendable only inside Higgsfield and only until it expires.

What Higgsfield does

It resells models. The API page says one key unlocks more than 50 frontier models for image, video and audio, and names Seedance, Kling, Veo, GPT Image, Soul and VoiceLab. Its catalogue runs from Seedance 2.5 and Kling 3.0 to Wan 3.0 Prime, LTX 2.5, Grok Imagine 2.0, Recraft 4.1 and Ideogram 4.0. (console)

Its own models. Genjutsu, launched 1 September 2026, changes an object, location, product or character in existing footage while leaving the rest of the frame alone, from one video of up to 30 seconds and up to 30 reference photos, with no prompt required if a preset will do. Soul 2, Cinema Studio 4.0, DoP and Popcorn are its own image and video tools.

Tools and integrations. The changelog records 3D Jutsu, an AI-native 3D workspace that turns a prompt into an editable scene with cameras, lighting and animation, on 4 September 2026; AI Motion Designer, which builds motion work in an open After Effects composition from a description, on 11 September 2026; Effects 2.0 presets inside the ChatGPT plugin on 10 September 2026; and MiniMax H3 Max on 31 August 2026. The Blender add-on puts seven generation tools over the 3D viewport, and three of them return workable Blender data: Scene builder delivers objects, layout and light as editable geometry, 3D Model places a mesh at the cursor, and Character animation returns a fitted, weighted rig with keyframes on the timeline. The add-on page also gives a bridge address (bridge.higgsfield.ai/mcp) to add as a connector, so an assistant can be asked to build a scene in the open Blender file.

One caveat worth knowing. The changelog's entry for Seedance 2.5 Draft Mode, added 22 September 2026, says the model is available in all regions except the United States, where it is unavailable on the provider's side.

Who Higgsfield is for

Individuals buy Starter, Plus or Ultra; teams of five to fifteen buy Scale; larger companies are sent to Enterprise; developers buy API credits with no plan. The Series B release says the enterprise customer base spans advertising and marketing, media and entertainment, broadcasting, fashion, retail, consumer brands, technology, financial services and pharmaceuticals, and Startup Fortune adds that most of that work is advertising and commercial video rather than the consumer clip generation Runway, Pika and Luma chase.

Two buying notes. First, the plan discount ladder means the same clip can cost different amounts on different accounts, so the rate that matters is the one the console shows for your account. Second, the cheapest way to the same weights is a real question: ByteDance's own Dreamina app puts Seedance 2.5 at $0.097 a generated second on its annual Advanced plan, by its own comparison, and fal lists it at roughly $0.2205 a second at 480p, so comparing a reseller to a reseller is not the same as comparing it to the source.

On 23 September Seedream 5.0 Flash arrived for image generation and Claude Opus 5.5 arrived in Supercomputer. On 22 September Seedance 2.5 Draft Mode added 480p previews ahead of a 1080p final, with the model unavailable in the United States, and GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna joined Supercomputer and the MCP. On 21 September OpenAI published a customer story in which Mashrabov said GPT-6 Astra let Higgsfield ship new exploration features in a day, saying the work "now can be done by just one engineer". Neither company published the feature list, a benchmark or an independent test. Source: OpenAI.
